Vast farm machines chugged through golden fields under bright blue skies the colours of Ukraine’s national flag which has become a global symbol of resistance.

It came as families in Irpin, north of Kyiv, posed for selfies on the wreck of an abandoned Russian tank.

In the capital Kyiv authorities have parked a range of blitzed Russian kit on display to remind people of their epic victories in the opening stages of Russia’s onslaught.
